Supplemental Music Lessons

 

Students are no longer required to call the school 24hrs in advance of missing a lesson.  Students can sign up for a Supplemental Music Lesson at their convenience for any cancelations or absences using the SignUpGenius button below. Students who miss a Supplemental Music Lesson may attend another session of that class if there is one available.

 

Voice, adapted music, band instruments, and music production make up lessons will continue to be 1-on-1 at this time. Students are required to call the school 24hrs in advance to be eligible for a private make-up lesson.

 

If a teacher cannot attend a scheduled lesson for any reason, a substitute teacher will be available.  If a substitute teacher is not available, a private make up lesson will be scheduled with the instructor.  Students forfeit the opportunity for a make up lesson if not scheduled within 30 calendar days.  Once scheduled, make up lessons cannot be rescheduled.

What is a Supplemental Music Lesson?

 

This is a one-hour group lesson for a particular instrument (Piano, Guitar, drums, violin etc.) that is designed to supplement a regular music lesson. This group lesson does not replace a regular scheduled lesson and is not mandatory for students. Supplemental Music Lessons are 60 minutes long.

 

Supplemental Music Lessons for a particular instrument is conducted once or twice per month based on a pre-set schedule decided for the year. In this group session, there is one teacher for a particular instrument and a maximum of 6 students. This is an excellent opportunity for students to interact with other students and gain a sense of confidence in sharing their music with others. The opportunity to attend a supplement lesson does not expire; however, actively enrolled students have priority placement for supplemental lessons.

Why can’t I have a private make up lesson?

When you enroll in lessons, you are paying to secure a specific time, on a specific day with your teacher. This is the time that you are paying for, and this time is reserved indefinitely as your lesson time.

Do I need to call muse mantra to schedule a supplemental music lesson?

No, you don't need to call us to cancel a lesson. You can reserve your spot for a Supplemental Music Lesson using SignUpGenius portal (Sig-up button below).  However, Voice, Adapted Music, band instruments, and Music Production students must call at least 24-hours in advance to be eligible for a private make up lesson.

If I’m gone for an extended period, can my child attend multiple supplemental music lessons?

Yes. For example, if you are away for 3 weeks (missing 3 lessons), you can sign-up for multiple supplemental lessons. Muse Mantra will post a schedule on the SignUpGenius portal following the completion of the current posted class for available lesson days and times. Space is limited so please do not sign up for a supplemental lesson you will not be able to attend.

If I sign up for a supplemental music lesson and my schedule changes, can I attend my regularly scheduled lesson (for that particular instance)?

Yes.  Your day and time for lessons has been reserved for you.  Because you no longer need to call ahead when you are going to miss a lesson, that time will be available for you regardless of whether you show up or not.
